He Held the Crying Jacqueline in His Arms
The next morning, I was awakened by the tearing pain of my lower body, and the scene from the nightmare last night flashed through my mind.
My first time and my precious wedding night was ruined by Yohan as he treated me like an enemy, destroying all my previous fantasies.
The warmth on the other side of the bed had already vanished, and the cream-colored bedsheet was dyed with droplets of eye-piercing blood.
I subsequently got up and went to the bathroom for a shower while enduring the pain. After the shower, I changed my clothes and the bedsheet.
Once I went out of the room, I stood at the stairs of the second floor and saw Yohan sitting at the rectangular dining table, reading a newspaper while eating breakfast.
The golden morning sunlight shone through the window and onto the man, defining face; he looked like an angel descended from heaven.
In these twelve years, I had been secretly loving him, thinking about marrying him and staying with him under the same roof and eating breakfast with him. It was something I did not dare to dream of, yet something I longed for.
Now that my dream had come true, I did not dare to take a step forward.
Last night he conquered me like a beast, reminding me that I had never known anything about this man every second.
“Miss Qin, you’re awake.” While I was watching Yohan, the servant saw me and greeted me politely from downstairs. She did not call me madam as she did yesterday, but Miss Qin.
My heart trembled slightly, although dissatisfaction rose in my heart. I did not dare to question her due to my status. All I could do was hide the fear of last night that was lingering within me. I then went downstairs and sat opposite Yohan.
When the maid served me breakfast, I had no appetite and only took two bites of it. Lifting my head, I saw that Yohan was the same too; the food in front of him remained untouched.
I was unsure whether I was trying to lighten up the atmosphere or trying to improve the marriage relationship between us when I said in a gentle voice, “Sorry, I woke up late today. From tomorrow onwards, I will get up early to make you breakfast.”
The only thing I was good at was cooking.
With that, I was looking forward to his response; however, Yohan threw away the tableware in his hand and stood up, still keeping an indifferent face. “Let’s go. The driver is waiting for us outside.”
“Where are we going?” I looked at the man’s displeased expression and panicked for a moment. I was worried that I had said something wrong. I had never been an introvert. However, in front of Yohan, even breathing seemed to be submissive.
At that moment, he had already walked to the door to change his shoes, and without looking back, he replied, “To go back to your parents’ home.”

I sat in Yohan’s car, and soon, we arrived at the Qin family courtyard.
Before entering the courtyard, I thought that Yohan brought me back because he was dissatisfied with this marriage and not because he found out I was a substitute.
However, the moment I followed him in, I saw Jacqueline, who was supposed to be overseas by now. She was standing with my parents in the living room.
Her eyes were swollen like pulp, making her seem as if she had been crying for a long time. At the same time, her parents, who were standing beside her, looked extremely furious.
I looked at Yohan, and the first thing that came into my mind was that he had already found out about the arranged marriage, so he sent someone to stop Jacqueline from leaving.
At that point in time, I was flustered. Although Yohan was not a person of authority in this city, if he wanted to find fault with someone, it would be as simple as killing an ant.
If it were me alone, it would be fine, but now, my parents and sister were involved.
When I was blaming myself while hesitating on how to explain it to him, I saw Yohan walk forward to embrace Jacqueline, who was crying. He lowered his head to comfort her and asked, “Are you all right?”
The man’s eyes were filled with gentleness that I had never seen before.
